Spoilers Throughout
So after being totally wowed by the awesome of An American Werewolf in London, we decided to enjoy some more of The Walking Dead themed streets and eventually make our way over to that walkthrough. Although it was awesome seeing the fall of Atlanta during the daytime, seeing the continuation as you got further into the park at nighttime was quite an eerie atmosphere changer. Zombies were in even more mass quanity, coming at you from every damn angle. Smoke machines everywhere, and that was creepy as hell, with wondering what was gonna be on the other side of the cloud. A crowd of people made it even more effective. You get a big group of peeps walking through clouds of smoke, eventually it gets to the point where you can't tell who is a Walker and who is just another person. It was pretty damn awesome.

I can't even really describe how incredible it was walking through these streets, especially the area based off of the Season 3 episode, Clear, where we see Morgan for the first time since Episode 1 of the first season. It was just absolutely awesome, especially being a huge fan of the show. So good, that's really the only way I can sum it up.
After making our way through all that madness, we get to the line for the Walking Dead walkthrough and see that it is a 2 hour wait. It was already late at this point, and I didn't want to miss out on a few other houses, so we decided to backtrack back to good ole bartender Dave for yet ANOTHER Jack and Coke, then hit up Resident Evil and Cabin in the Woods. We figured, even if we miss the Walking Dead walktrhough, the streets were cool enough to fulfill our needs. So, we went back and got our drink on, which was the steepest one yet in liquor, and got in line for Resident Evil.
Oh wait, to backtrack, on our way back we noticed that Mel's Drive-In was in theme for the events, too. So damn awesome.
Okay, now back to Resident Evil!

I've never been too big a fan of the Resident Evil films. I enjoyed the first viewing of the first film, but it never held up for future viewings. Anyway, the fact that this walkthrough is based around the games was a huge treat for me. Resident Evil 2 is my favorite game in the series, and this walkthrough is basically a mashup of that and Nemesis. It so damn good, and so faithful. There's a "pause" room, a "you are dead" room, first aid spray, herbs, save spot typewriter, zombie dogs, Claire looking hot, and more. It was fucking amazing, to put it simply.
Afterward we headed straight to Cabin in the Woods.

Cabin in the Woods was the cake taker for my girlfriend and I. Even if you hated the movie, I would be hard pressed to believe you wouldn't like this walkthrough. It's the best aspects of the movie. The cabin, the control room, the elevator, and more. The elevator section scared the shit out of me. I do not like fucking clowns at all, and when one was about 5 inches from my face, I wished that I had brought a second pair of underwear. This was the best walkthrough of the night, hands down, and I loved everything we had seen up to this point.
So, back through the streets of undead and into the line for Walking Dead, which was now an hour and forty minutes. We braved it. It was brutal. We were stuck in line between a couple who were basically fucking in front of us and a dude behind us bragging about how much LSD he is able to take in one setting. 100 minutes of this shit and I wanted to strangle a mother fucker. But, I wasn't going to let it weigh on my overall reaction of the walkthrough.

I'm sorry to report that The Walking Dead walkthrough was lackluster as shit. I didn't let the long wait in the midst of dickhole people influence my opinion, either. It was just a huge disappointment, especially considering that Universal was showcasing it as the biggest event for Halloween Horror Nights this year. I figured they would have gone way more all out for it, but no such luck. It wasn't totally without merit, though. A cameo from Penny and Merle were indeed cool, as was the Governor's tank of floating heads. There was also a cool bit where you have to crouch down and walk through a section. That was it, though. Zombies weren't creepy. They walked around behind fences and did jack shit. A couple of them barely looked like they were wearing makeup. I did get the hell scared out of me once, though. But I was letdown by the halfassed layout, because every other walkthrough looked so cool to me. However, the way the streets of Universal were decked out in theme of The Walking dead more than made up for this.
At the end of the day, this was one hell of a good time, and I cannot wait for next year to roll around. We'll never miss HHN again, and I can't wait to see what the next lineup is.
