I got off to a slow start with my onslaught of October horror program watching, but I am gonna try my damndest to make up for that the rest of the month. I'm not gonna be doing any reviews over here this month, as I kinda just want to enjoy the holiday, but there will be plenty of updates. I do have a guest review coming up over at The Moon is a Dead World, and a little near and dear to my heart article for Son Of Celluloid. Also, Lady Brobocop will have something cool coming up this month over here. All I intend to do is give a daily rundown of stuff I watched this month. And here is what was viewed yesterday!
Halloween (1978)
- To be honest, I've already taken this in 4 times this year, and it's sure to be viewed once more on Halloween night. Reason being is I had realized that I'd kinda neglected it over the past few years. Sure, it gets watched every year on October 31st, but I used to watch it numerous times a year, and I would like to bring it back into my life as such. Seriously, a fucking classic.
An American Werewolf in London (1981)
- This one I had previously taken in one other time this year, to introduce to a few friends whom had never seen it. Not just a favorite werewolf film, or a favorite horror film, but one of my favorite films of all time, in general.
The Monster Squad (1987)
- An absolute favorite from childhood, and one that I now completely love to sit down and watch with my daughter. It still holds up incredibly well, and Stan Winston's FX rock. Also, the "Rock Until You Drop" montage sequence is gold.
Dexter: Season 7/Episode 2 (2012)
- Season 7 has started out with a fucking bang. One helluva great premiere episode and this one was equally awesome. If it keeps up with the momentum it has right now, we're looking at one seriously awesome season.
House of 1000 Corpses (2003/released)
- Yep, I'm one of the lovers of this film. I watch it every October and was lucky enough to catch it on the big screen during its small theatrical run. I have a review that I did last year, which pretty much explains my full feelings of the film- House of 1000 Corpses Review
Bad Moon (1996)
- Not an absolute favorite werewolf film of mine, but still incredibly entertaining. I'd say it's Michael Pare's last good role, and it's also directed by Eric Red, so that's a plus. Certain things weigh it down, such as a seriously awful CGI transformation, but the practical werewolf FX are pretty badass. I also have a review of this one- Bad Moon Review
I'll be doing my Monday rundown tomorrow!
